How do we learn best? Research has concluded that we often learn best if we are able to capitalize on our strengths. Personality characteristics and learning strengths combine to form a learning style. A learning style is an individuals’ combined preference for receiving and processing information. Knowledge of learning styles provides teachers, trainers, managers, and administrators with the ability to assist individuals in developing the best practices for success by focusing on strengths and developing positive strategies for areas in need of improvement. The "What’s Your Style?" workshop is a power-packed presentation filled with hands-on learning activities. Participants will laugh and learn during a discussion of multiple intelligences, environmental preferences and learning styles. Individuals will leave this session armed with tools that will have an immediate and lasting impact personally and professionally.

Every person develops knowledge about the world based on their own experiences. Our view of other cultures, races and ethnicities often is determined by our experience or lack of experience with certain individuals and groups. In other words, we view the world through our own cultural lenses. Although awareness and tolerance have grown in past years, challenges still exist in every setting when diversity is the issue. Often the idea of multiculturalism has not created unity because the core subject of discussion has been how we are different. It is important for us to discuss and acknowledge how we are different, because we are. More important though, for personal and professional growth and success, is discussing how we are similar. Other questions that must be asked when discussing diversity are: "Where did we come from (considering our own cultural history)?", "Why do we hold particular views?", and "How can we build understanding, remove fear, and create a safe environment in our home, community and work place? "This upbeat presentation is a softer, gentler approach to the subject of diversity. Participants will be enlightened and challenged through this powerful workshop.
